FORT MILL, S.C. -
Chesterfield (S.C.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Indian Land (Fort Mill, S.C.), 38-3, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Golden Rams led 25-3 at the half.
Chesterfield expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by
Dillon Rivers to
Chuck Jackson.
Coming into the game the Golden Rams had allowed 26.0 points per game this year. Chesterfield held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Warriors well below the 23.8 points it had been averaging per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, CHS came away with a 47-0 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Golden Rams, who lost to Central last week, 30-21. The victory snapped Chesterfield's two-game losing streak. The loss was the fourth in a row for Indian Land.
Indian Land (1-5) will play a AA Region IV game against Central next week, while Chesterfield (4-3) will take on Andrew Jackson also in a AA Region IV game.
