The Hilton Head Island Seahawks and the Liberty Red Devils will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Neither Hilton Head Island nor Liberty posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Last Saturday, Hilton Head Island might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Richmond Hill an easy 45-24 win. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hilton Head Island has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Hilton Head Island saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Deja Godsun, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Godsun also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Amaya Wroten, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Liberty's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 37-25 to Carolina Academy.
This is the second loss in a row for Hilton Head Island and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Liberty, they bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
