The King City Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-56 to North Salinas. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Shane Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Salinas, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. Trevon Kubulan was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
King City's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for North Salinas, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.
King City will challenge Rancho San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rancho San Juan's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for North Salinas, they will be playing at home against Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Monte Vista Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
