Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flagstaff). They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Lee Williams Volunteers on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.
Mia Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had over her last four matches. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Flagstaff let Hallie Watkins and Ryleigh Alex run wild. Watkins scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Alex scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Watkins has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Haley Cody, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Flagstaff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
