The Saranac Redhawks lost against the Maple Valley Lions back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Saranac fell 57-44 to Maple Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Saranac in their matchups with Maple Valley: they've now lost three in a row.
Maple Valley was led to victory by Jake McDonald and Ayden Wilkes . McDonald dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Wilkes scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilkes has scored at least 25% of Maple Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Musser, who scored 6 points.
Saranac's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Maple Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saranac will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Potterville at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. As for Maple Valley, they will square off against Lansing Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
