South Lakes is 7-1 against Yorktown since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Even though South Lakes has not done well against Westfield recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. South Lakes secured a 28-24 W over Westfield.
South Lakes had a senior duo take command as Nick Harris threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns and James Zschunke picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Yorktown earned a 14-3 win over Herndon on Friday.
Yorktown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Montecino, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown.
South Lakes has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points per game. As for Yorktown, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
South Lakes strolled past Yorktown in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 by a score of 36-21. Will South Lakes repeat their success, or does Yorktown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
