Orem has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mountain View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will face off against the Bruins at 3:30 p.m. Orem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Orem came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Payson by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Kate Allred was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Mountain View came out on top against Provo on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fifth inning. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Bulldogs. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Brinlee Gillman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Gillman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Mountain View let Saralynn Hair and Haylee Krug run wild. Hair went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Krug got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Krug continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Miranda Secrist was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Orem's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Mountain View, their record now sits at 9-14.
Everything went Orem's way against Mountain View in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Orem made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
