Even though the Lodi Blue Devils scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors still came out on top. Lakeside Lutheran walked away with a 67-60 win over the Blue Devils. Given Lakeside Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lakeside Lutheran to victory were Kaycee Guzman and Wes Rahn. Guzman scored 16 points along with seven assists, while Rahn scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ben Krauklis, who scored six points.
The win makes it two in a row for Lakeside Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 17-2. As for Lodi, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Lakeside Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. River Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lodi, they will head out on the road to take on the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterloo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully the Blue Devils like a good challenge.
