Highland is 1-9 against Olympus since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Titans at 3:30 p.m. Highland has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Highland managed to slip by West the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 20-8.
Olivia Carr was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Olympus waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Titans have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Olympus also got a great performance from Charlie Turner as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Turner has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jaedin Mugleston and Charlotte Comer did most of the damage at the plate: Mugleston went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Comer went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave Comer a new career-high in doubles (two). Adi Comer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Olympus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Olympus' victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Highland suffered a grim 21-2 defeat to Olympus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
