The Auburn Tigers stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Smiths Station 79-36 at home. Given Auburn's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Smiths Station is ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Auburn found their leader in underclassman Antwane Daniels, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daniels has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Pearson, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Auburn pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Smiths Station, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn will face off against Opelika at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Opelika's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Smiths Station, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
