Suburban - Red recap October 8, 2013
Ruskin scaled the state rankings by moving to 199 from 227 this week, the biggest jump in Suburban - Red. The Golden Eagles were able to move up by losing to Truman 14-13.
Park Hill lost to Kearney 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lee's Summit West's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Ganaden threw for 239 and 3 touchdowns and Monte Harrison had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Ryan Williams contributed 115 yards. Brenner Clemons helped Lee's Summit West's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 62 yards.
Williams was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 115 yards on 11 carries as the Titans defeated Park Hill South. Teammate Clemons added to the ground attack by rushing for 60 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lee's Summit West's Ganaden and Harrison have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-5 quarterback Ganaden has thrown for 1,496 yards this season, while Harrison has 35 catches for 527 yards. Derrick Cook from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 445 yards.
An important game coming up in Suburban - Red this week will be when Central takes on Park Hill South. As it stands, the Indians are in fourth, while Mark Simcox's team is in second.
