Basketball Recap: J.R. Tucker's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask J.R. Tucker). They secured a 44-40 W over the Clover Hill Cavaliers on Thursday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 50-38 victory the Cavaliers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Elam, who posted 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Elam a new career-high in steals. Janiyah Pollard was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

J.R. Tucker's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Clover Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

J.R. Tucker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-9 victory against Thomas Jefferson on the 13th. As for Clover Hill, they will venture away from home to challenge Midlothian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clover Hill is facing Midlothian at the right time seeing as Midlothian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
