Baseball Recap: London Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

London waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the San Diego Vaqueros as they made off with a 9-0 win. Considering the Pirates have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Manning looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aiden Salinas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Tyrone, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

London was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher in four consecutive games.

London pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for San Diego, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9-1 record this season.

London wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against United on the 12th. As for San Diego, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Banquete on the 17th.
