Kofa had to hit the road for their first game and  it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell  34-21 to the Maryvale Panthers on Friday. Sadly, the  defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.
 Maryvale found their leader in sophomore  Isaac Buchanan, who rushed for 378 yards and four  TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Buchanan was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Maryvale also got a significant boost from  Isaiah Savage, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kofa will face off against La Joya Community at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Maryvale, they will venture away from home to  face off against Cholla  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
