Softball Recap: Brownsburg Wins Going Away Against Mccutcheon

Brownsburg won the last time they faced McCutcheon and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 13-4 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Etta Schroering looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tatum Hunt was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Paddock, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Brownsburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Brownsburg's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6. As for McCutcheon, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownsburg will head out to challenge North Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McCutcheon, they will venture away from home to face off against Franklin Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flashes have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
