The Joliet West Tigers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. Everything went their way against Plainfield Central as Joliet West made off with a 35-12 win. The result was nothing new for Joliet West, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Joliet West can attribute much of their success to Juan Rico, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 215 yards and a touchdown. Joliet West also got help from Gavin Garcia who showed off his sure hands for 110 receiving yards.
Joliet West's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Plainfield Central, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Joliet West will be playing at home against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint Ignatius College Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Plainfield Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
