The Billerica Memorial Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Andover Golden Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Billerica Memorial comes in on eight and Andover on three.
Last Friday, Billerica Memorial didn't have too much trouble with North Andover at home as they won 41-22. Given Billerica Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while North Andover is ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Andover sidestepped Central Catholic for a 22-20 victory.
Andover got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dom Papa out in front who rushed for 22 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 207 yards and a touchdown.
Andover's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Sean Napolitano and his two sacks.
Billerica Memorial's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.89 points. As for Andover, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Billerica Memorial lost to Andover on the road by a decisive 32-14 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2019. Thankfully for Billerica Memorial, Joshua Ramos (who rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
