Chandler Prep dropped down to 7-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Pima Roughriders. The Titans were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the four matchups prior), but the Roughriders' defense proved too tough.
As for Pima, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points over those games.
Pima's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Palmer, who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also picked up 89 receiving yards and one touchdown. Palmer also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Roughriders are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Pima also got a significant boost from Rooster Alder, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
As of now, neither Chandler Prep nor the Roughriders have any future games scheduled.
