There's no place like home for the Highland Park Giants, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 48-39 win over Niles North on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Highland Park, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Highland Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenzie Reitmayer, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Reitmayer hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Maddie Reitmayer, who scored 15 points.
Highland Park pushed their record up to 14-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Niles North, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Deerfield the next time they take the court. Highland Park will head out to face the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Giants will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m.
