It was a good run, but the Electra Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 98-77 walloping at the hands of Benjamin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Electra still had to take the loss.
Grayson Rigdon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Benjamin, shooting 9-for-17 from deep and dropping a triple-double on 51 points, ten assists, and 13 steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Rigdon has scored at least a third of Benjamin's points. Another player making a difference was Keegan Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten assists.
Electra's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-5. As for Benjamin, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Electra will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chillicothe comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Benjamin, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Crowell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
