La Marque is a perfect 5-0 against Royal since February of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. La Marque will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
La Marque's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Stafford as they made off with a 23-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordynn Hawkins made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Hawkins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kamori Walker was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Karen Salazar, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.
La Marque kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Royal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-0 to Sealy. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 17 runs.
La Marque's victory bumped their record up to 10-12-1. As for Royal, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
Royal's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: La Marque hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. It's a different story for Royal, though, as they've only averaged .132. Will they be able to contain La Marque's hitters?
La Marque got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Royal by a conclusive 21-3 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
