The Central Valley Hawks were the 65-28 winner over the Johansen Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Central Valley took a hard 66-51 fall against Johansen on Tuesday.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmanuel Carranza, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jellmar Mata, who scored nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johansen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caidan Bounmany, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Wilbert Gaxiola, who scored 16 points.
Central Valley's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. As for Johansen, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Central Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hughson at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Hughson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. As for Johansen, they will square off against Golden Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Golden Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Johansen in California (Golden Valley is ranked 357th, while Johansen is ranked 1027th).
