After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Pine Grove was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Myrtle Hawks by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Hawks last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-1 loss.

Pine Grove's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Myrtle, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Pine Grove Panthers face off against Baldwyn Bearcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Myrtle, they will square off against Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Myrtle's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Ashland has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
