Hernando posted their closest victory since April 18, 2025 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Heritage Academy Patriots 3-1. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Tigers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Beau Herman tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, David Gentry was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Cole Gregg was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases.

Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Heritage Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Hernando wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-14 loss against Jackson Prep on the 28th. As for Heritage Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 win against Sacred Heart on the 28th.
