Elliot Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 947th, while Fortuna is ranked 198th).
On December 9th, Elliot Christian took a serious blow against Johnson, falling 68-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elliot Christian has scored all season.
Elliot Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden Gaither, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, and Jeremy Nielsen who scored 17 points. Nielsen scored a full 63% of Elliot Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaden Kirby was another key contributor, scoring no points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fortuna waltzed into their matchup Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 72-26 victory over Ferndale on the road. That 72-26 margin sets a new team best for Fortuna this season.
Elliot Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fortuna, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
