Cape Fear Academy lost against Coastal Christian back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. The Hurricanes took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centurions. While the Hurricanes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Centurions  25-18 in the first  set.
 Cape Fear Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-20, 29-27,  25-23.
 Frankie Osborne paced Cape Fear Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Osborne got some help from  Beatrice (Bertie) Brookes and her 19 assists. Brookes was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
  Pasey Hodges was a one-woman wrecking crew For Coastal Christian. as she  had 37  digs and three  aces. Those  37  digs gave  Hodges a new career-high.
Cape Fear Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Coastal Christian, they pushed their record up to 17-11 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Coming up, Cape Fear Academy will square off against Fayetteville Christian at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Coastal Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
