The Schulenburg Shorthorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Flatonia 62-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Schulenburg in their matchups with Flatonia: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Schulenburg saw an underclassman step up: Grace Schramek scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals. Alana Herzik was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Schulenburg has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 18 of their last 21 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-23 record this season. As for Flatonia, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Louise the next time they take the court. Flatonia will head out to face Louise at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, while Schulenburg will head out to face them at 6:20 p.m. on Friday.
