The Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions will head out on the road to square off against the La Lumiere Blue Lakers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lighthouse College Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Lakers are ranked 137th).
Lighthouse College Prep Academy pushed their score all the way to 58 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-58 to Farragut. Lighthouse College Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Derek Scott, Jr put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Woodland, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, La Lumiere Blue put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Heritage Christian 77-41 on the road. La Lumiere Blue pushed the score to 72-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Defenders cut but never quite recovered from.
Lighthouse College Prep Academy dropped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for La Lumiere Blue, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Lighthouse College Prep Academy lost to the Lakers on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Can Lighthouse College Prep Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
