The York Cougars will take on the Clover Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in York's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.
On Thursday, York made easy work of Richland Northeast and carried off a 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Emma Ferrell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Peyton Brooks was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Salleigh McSwain, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Clover was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwestern on Friday, taking the game 8-5.
Clover is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
York got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Clover by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
