Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II recap Oct. 9, 2012
Valley Center was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II. Earlier in the week, the Hornets triumphed over Eisenhower 14-6.
Andover extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Goddard, 40-16. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Braden Tormey and Keaton Canaday gave Valley Center a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Tormey threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while Canaday ran for 129 yards. Teammate Alec Wetig added to the ground attack by rushing for 24 yards.
DeeIsaac Davis made the biggest impact on defense this week as Andover bested the Lions. The senior grabbed 1.0 sack.
Jacob Richardson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers lost to Pat Haxton's team. Richardson tallied five receptions for 107 yards. Brennan Stemple helped Eisenhower's passing attack out by catching five balls for 69 yards.
Blake Meier provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Central fell to Central. He completed 14 passes for 148 yards and also ran for one yards. Meier's favorite target this week was Cameron Hurley, who caught six passes for 63 yards.
The Jaguars' Meier and Kolten Holinde have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II in both passing and receiving yards. Meier has thrown for 823 yards this season, while Holinde has 19 catches for 351 yards. Mike Lee's team's Chase Ogden leads the league in rushing yards with 481.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Hornets take on the Trojans. Valley Center is currently in fourth, while Andover is in second.
Arkansas City took down Augusta 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
