Baseball Game Preview: Bogue Chitto Bobcats vs. Raleigh Lions

For the second straight game, Bogue Chitto will face off against Raleigh. The Bobcats will challenge the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bogue Chitto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Bogue Chitto is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Raleigh by a score of 9-5.

Tripp McCaffrey made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Bogue Chitto is undefeated when McCaffrey posts ten or more strikeouts, but 9-10 otherwise. McCaffrey was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Avants, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tucker Kyzar was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
