Softball Recap: Potomac Falls Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rock Ridge last Thursday, Potomac Falls came back down to earth. Potomac Falls lost 11-4 to the South Lakes Seahawks on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Monday.

Lyla Daugherty-Moysey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Zariah Ricks also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Potomac Falls' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for South Lakes, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potomac Falls will challenge Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Lakes, they will face off against Dominion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dominion has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.4 runs per game on average), something South Lakes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
