Skyline (Dallas, Texas) struck back like a heavyweight champion and landed a huge punches of its own, upsetting the nation's No. 1-ranked team 40-30.
A go-ahead touchdown pass from
Kylan Johnson to
Savon Rollison gave Skyline (3-0) a 34-30 lead and proved to be the difference. Two late field goals, coupled with some impressive defensive stops, helped Skyline preserve the victory.
After an explosive first half, Skyline took a 27-24 lead into the locker room.
Cedar Hill (2-1) quickly regained the lead in the third quarter thanks to a 20-yard touchdown run by
Aca'cedric Ware.
However, Skyline showed resolve, returning the favor with a Johnson touchdown pass to Rollison to go up 34-30.
Skyline's defense matched the heroics of its offense, forcing Cedar Hill to turn the ball over on downs twice in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
