The South Kitsap Wolves's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They snuck past Kennedy Catholic with a 39-33 win. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 30% better than the opposition, as South Kitsap's was.
South Kitsap's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamdyn Hagerty led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grace Degarimore, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Kennedy Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addie McDonough, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that McDonough grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kathryn Schroeder, who scored seven points along with three steals.
South Kitsap's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-14. As for Kennedy Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
South Kitsap will head out on the road to challenge Emerald Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerald Ridgepresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Kitsap in Washington (Emerald Ridge is ranked 47th, while South Kitsap is ranked 176th). Kennedy Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
