The True North Classical Academy Titans will venture away from home to take on the American Heritage Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (True North Classical Academy: 3.8, American Heritage: 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
True North Classical Academy gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Yancarlos Cordova looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brandon Castellon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Angel Garcia also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
True North Classical Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, American Heritage had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against the Victors by a score of 7-2.
Dominic Ferreira looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Joseph Castro was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Blayden Caballero was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
American Heritage pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for True North Classical Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
True North Classical Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against American Heritage in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1.
