3A Region 1 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region 1 this week, T.R. Miller beat Midfield 41-6. This was the team's 12th consecutive win.
T.R. Miller was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping the Patriots. Coach Jamie Riggs' team came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
The Tigers' Keion Smith and Kellyn Wynn have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Smith has thrown for 673 yards this season, while Wynn has 11 catches for 276 yards. W.S. Neal's Quenton Samuels leads the league in rushing yards with 1,881.
Malcolm Hawthorne has rushed for 914 yards on 148 carries so far this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bayside Academy takes on Straughn. The Admirals are in third place, while the Tigers are in second place.
T.R. Miller took down Midfield 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
