Sean Smith Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Westlake's Sean Smith, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Smith threw for 123 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 68 yards on only six carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
Westlake dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Lions takes on Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Zamarcus Lindley Dazzles in Douglas County Victory
Zamarcus Lindley was instrumental in extending Douglas County's winning streak to three on Friday. Lindley did his part (and then some), rushing for 108 yards and three touchdowns for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. Lindley and Douglas County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th.

Jacahi Streeter Turns in Season-Best Performance
Douglas County was led to victory by Jacahi Streeter, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Streeter rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
This year, Streeter has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 53.1 rushing yards per game.

Sadly, Sebastian Wimbush posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Westlake over Douglas County on Friday. Wimbush wasn't messing around, making 15 total tackles. The match was his fourth straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
On the season, Wimbush has averaged 6.5 total tackles per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging one total tackle per game.
