Hodgdon had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-6 to make it five. They came up short against the Fort Fairfield Tigers, falling 14-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.
Hodgdon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Fitzpatrick, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
As for Fort Fairfield, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.7 runs this season.
On Fort Fairfield's side, Cayden Ala made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ala has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
