Even though the Sabino Sabercats have not done well against the Thatcher Eagles recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Sabino snuck past Thatcher with a 56-50 victory. The victory was nothing new for Sabino as they're now sitting on three straight.
Sabino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Herndon, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Herndon is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Cameron Hackworth was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Sabino has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. As for Thatcher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Sabino will be playing in front of their home fans against Palo Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palo Verde is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Thatcher, they will take on Tanque Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tanque Verde has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three games.
