A Region V recap November 19, 2013
Allendale-Fairfax added to the longest winning streak in A Region V this week by beating Hemingway, 18-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Allendale-Fairfax made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,003 from 4,777. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 18-7 victory over the Tigers last week.
Estill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Taylor threw for 60 yards and DeAngelo Bryant had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Jarvis Singleton chipped in 163 yards.
The Fighting Gators' dynamic duo of Taylor and Bryant proved to be unstoppable against Carvers Bay, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Singleton was a passing and rushing force as Estill fell to the Bears. Singleton's key target this week was Bryant, who caught 2 passes for 60 yards.
KeShawn Busby made the biggest impact on defense this week as J.C Threatt's team lost to Carvers Bay. The 5-foot-8 senior forced 1 fumble.
Denmark-Olar's Ricco Parler and Polite Ricky have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Parler has thrown for 1,084 yards this season, while Ricky has 11 catches for 208 yards. The Fighting Gators' Singleton leads the league in rushing yards with 1,502.
Singleton broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 80-yard run against Nate Thompson's team. Estill fell to the Bears, Singleton finishing the game with 163 yards rushing.
