Lockport gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Yorkville Foxes a 7-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Porters sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.
Nate Gorecki looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Adam Kozak was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bryce Flood, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Looking ahead, Lockport will take on Fort Smith P at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Yorkville, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
