Softball Recap: Orangefield Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Orangefield came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warren Warriors a 17-0 shutout. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.

Orangefield pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Warren, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Orangefield Bobcats duke it out with Buna Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orangefield's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Buna's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Warren, they will welcome Hardin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
