The Rocky Hill Country Day Mariners waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Austin Prep out 56-53.
Rocky Hill Country Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Sokol out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Addison Mahar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Rocky Hill Country Day has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Austin Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Rocky Hill Country Day will look to defend their home court on Monday against the at 5:00 p.m. Austin Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th.
