Having just played yesterday, the St. John Lutheran Saints will get right back to it and host the First Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. John Lutheran has eight straight wins, First Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, St. John Lutheran beat Saint Francis Catholic 47-38.
St. John Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabel Freeman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. Freeman also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kayla joy Bowen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, First Christian came up short against Northside Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 31-24.
St. John Lutheran's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for First Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
