Tri-Valley is a perfect 3-0 against Meadowbrook since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Scotties will look to defend their home field against the Colts at 5:00 p.m. Tri-Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
On Tuesday, Tri-Valley earned a 9-6 victory over Philo.
Larsyn Holdsworth was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Peterson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Tri-Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook won against Edison on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Colts blew past Maysville 8-2. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Sommer Ginn and Addy Randles did most of the damage at the plate: Ginn scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Randles scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that Randles snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Addy Wiggins, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meadowbrook's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Meadowbrook struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tri-Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Meadowbrook when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Scotties repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
