Napoleon is 6-0 against Wauseon since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Both teams will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. at. Hopefully Napoleon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Napoleon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Archbold, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. The win was just what Napoleon needed coming off of a 53-16 defeat in their prior matchup.
Napoleon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Cicero out in front who scored 12 points along with four steals. Cicero continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Kruse, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Wauseon strolled past Southview with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 47-28. Given Wauseon's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Southview is ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Napoleon back to even at 5-5. As for Wauseon, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Napoleon strolled past Wauseon in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 48-33. Does Napoleon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wauseon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
