The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Lee-Scott Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (57), Abbeville Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Several Generals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shi Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Javarse Turner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Abbeville Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee-Scott Academy only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Lee-Scott Academy found their leader in underclassman Haiden Harper, who scored 29 points. The matchup was Harper's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Ben Aldridge was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Abbeville Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.
Abbeville Christian Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Wiregrass at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Wiregrass is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.3 points per game. Lee-Scott Academy and Springwood will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
