Given St. Stephen's Episcopal's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart is ranked 1371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Stephen's Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedy Lartigue, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Evie Kadyan, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
St. Stephen's Episcopal has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing St. Andrew's the next time they take the court. Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart will host St. Andrew's at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Stephen's Episcopal will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
