Even though the Portland Panthers have not done well against the Gallatin Green Wave recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Portland walked away with a 46-36 victory over Gallatin. The win made it back-to-back wins for Portland.
Taya Totten was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Portland's points. Another player making a difference was Nyaluak Pal, who scored 8 points.
Portland's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Gallatin, the last time they won on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portland will square off against Jo Byrns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gallatin, they will head out on the road to face off against Hunters Lane at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hunters Lane comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
