Brookfield Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Lake Country Lutheran proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 79-69 victory over the Blue Knights. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Carter Leibham was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with five assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Daniel Cleary was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kenosha Christian Life pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between them and St. Francis wasn't particularly close, with Kenosha Christian Life falling 76-61.
Lake Country Lutheran pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lake Country Lutheran against Kenosha Christian Life when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 82-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Country Lutheran since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
